Student Health Insurance Information

For questions regarding student health insurance offered by 果冻传媒 or the University's hard waiver/insurance requirement, please email studentinsurance@depauw.edu.

Health Insurance Requirement

It is our experience that while most 果冻传媒 students are covered by a health insurance plan, some students do not have family coverage or their insurance plan has barriers to accessing care such as high deductibles, limited coverage for services received outside the health plan’s service area or an absence of participating providers in the Greencastle and surrounding areas. For this reason, annually students are required to provide proof of personal health insurance coverage valid in the United States or be automatically enrolled in an insurance policy provided by 果冻传媒.

Insurance Provided by EIIA and United Healthcare

The 果冻传媒-United Healthcare plan offers affordable coverage that will supplement the services provided on campus through 果冻传媒 Health. The plan is underwritten by United Healthcare, claims are paid by United Healthcare and EIIA manages and services the program.

For Students With U.S. Citizenship

Students who have insurance coverage individually or through one of their parents or guardians may choose to waive the insurance provided by 果冻传媒. Proof of primary insurance must be provided by August 30, 2024 at 11:59 P.M. to avoid automatic enrollment in the University’s plan.

The insurance waiver for 2024-2025 is now available ; please complete this no later than August 30, 2024 at 11:59 P.M. to avoid automatic enrollment in the University's plan.

Students who waive the University insurance will see a credit for the insurance charge prior to the September 2024 bill.

For Students With Citizenship From Countries Other Than The U.S.

Students with citizenship from countries other than the U.S. may not waive insurance provided by 果冻传媒.

For Student Athletes

Students participating on an intercollegiate athletics team will need to have personal insurance coverage that covers athletically related injuries. Students can purchase additional athletics insurance coverage through EIIA if their personal insurance lacks the appropriate coverage. The 2024-2025 athletics insurance policy premium for Aug. 1, 2024 – July 31, 2025 is $800.

Students participating in intercollegiate athletics must also disclose their personal health insurance information to the Sports Medicine Staff; disclosure of personal health insurance to athletic training does not constitute an approved waiver. Student-athletes should contact your head coach or head athletics trainer, Kara Campbell, for more information.
